The Dorset countryside starts almost from the front door, with peaceful lanes, open fields and some of the finest walking in the South West all within easy reach. And the good news? You won’t have to leave your dog behind when it’s time to eat. Most of Beaminster’s cafés, restaurants and pubs are dog-friendly, so your companion can join you for a coffee at Cilla & Camilla, a pub evening at The Red Lion or a leisurely lunch in town without anyone feeling left out.
After a day of adventures together, the cottage is a proper retreat. Settle in by the wood-burning stove, let your dog curl up beside you and let the evening take care of itself. There’s an outdoor tap for rinsing off muddy paws before you come back inside because West Dorset has a way of finding its way onto everyone.
