About Mapperton House
Mapperton House is one of the most celebrated wedding venues in England and one of the most beautiful places in West Dorset.
The estate sits in the rolling hills above Beaminster, home to the Earl and Countess of Sandwich and described by Country Life magazine as Britain’s finest manor house. Its award-winning Italianate gardens ‚ set on three levels from the croquet lawn to the fountain courtyard and the arboretum beyond ‚ provide a backdrop for wedding photography that is, frankly, impossible to improve upon.
Ceremonies take place in the Garden Pavilion overlooking the gardens, in the ancient garden grottos, beneath the majestic Orangery or in the medieval All Saints Church for blessings of up to 90 guests. The recently renovated 17th century Coach House provides flexible reception space for up to 120 seated guests, with full sound and lighting systems, exposed beams and original stonework throughout. A marquee on the main lawn can extend capacity to 400 guests.

The converted 19th century barn ‚ Hope Barn ‚ is designed with a sleek industrial edge, with floor-to-ceiling windows flooding the space with natural light and views across the surrounding hills. The venue accommodates up to 120 guests for indoor or outdoor ceremonies, with the beautiful walled garden and outdoor oak arbour providing a spectacular alternative for outdoor ceremonies with breathtaking Dorset views.
Hope Farm’s own herd of alpacas graze the surrounding fields ‚ a detail that makes every wedding photograph here completely unique and completely wonderful.
The family-run ethos means a genuinely personal, hands-on service throughout ‚ and the converted horsebox bar, fire pits and hay bales create an atmosphere that is relaxed, rustic and completely its own. Hope Farm also has a dedicated hair and makeup room in the Coach House for the bridal party.
