Bring your four legged friend

Dogs welcome at Blackbird Cottage

We’ve always believed that the best holidays include the whole family and that includes the four-legged members.

We’re delighted to welcome one well-behaved dog to Blackbird Cottage. The enclosed, private garden is fully secured perfect for letting your dog roam freely and safely while you enjoy a morning coffee in peace. Please do keep an eye on them around the small wildlife pond, which is home to a little ecosystem we’re rather fond of.

The Dorset countryside starts almost from the front door peaceful lanes, open fields and some of the finest walking in the South West, all within easy reach. And the good news? You won’t have to leave your dog behind when it’s time to eat. Most of Beaminster’s cafés, restaurants and pubs are dog-friendly so your companion can join you for a coffee at Cilla & Camilla, a pub evening at The Red Lion or a leisurely lunch in town without anyone feeling left out.

After a day of adventures together, the cottage is a proper retreat. Settle in by the wood-burning stove, let your dog curl up beside you and let the evening take care of itself. There’s an outdoor tap for rinsing off muddy paws before you come back inside because West Dorset has a way of finding its way onto everyone.

A few things to know

We welcome one well-behaved dog per stay. A dog stay fee of £30 applies per stay. We ask that dogs are not allowed upstairs and not left alone in the cottage. The garden is fully enclosed but please supervise your dog around the small wildlife pond. Other than that you’re both very welcome.
